    Each year until 2030, at least 150 million people will be entering the middle class, equivalent to almost 60% of the world’s population. During the same period energy demand is estimated to increase by 40% and water demand is expected to outstrip supply by 40% *.

    It will be a challenge to meet the demand of the next generation of consumers, especially when our goal is to provide in a sustainable way. Not only world leaders will have to position themselves, but each of us so that we can succeed and survive in this planet.

    We must ask ourselves: is it possible to change? Extension projects as developed by the group Chemistring with Science that deals with the theme of consumption, can engage consumers in order to cause behavioral changes that lead to a and more sustainable lifestyles? Some people agree others disagree. But regardless, we believe that education is the essential component of this complex puzzle.
